Paul J. Allain​, AIA, NCARB

Paul J. Allain is the Principle Architect and Owner of Paul J. Allain, Architect APAC.  Paul received his Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (ULL) in 1980. After obtaining his architecture license, he opened his firm in 1991 in his hometown of New Iberia. Paul has a regional reputation for excellence in architectural planning and design with projects ranging in scale from large public and commercial buildings to custom residences. As the principal architect of the firm, Paul’s expertise covers many territories. Paul enjoys the challenge of coming up with creative solutions to design problems and providing the region with innovative, progressive buildings that compliment their surroundings. Helping his clients’ achieve their aspirations, Paul develops programmatic and implementation strategies, collaborates with highly skilled consultants and works within the client’s budgetary parameters. Paul’s dedication to client satisfaction and his specialized expertise has allowed the firm to maintain many long-lasting relationships and bring a well deserved level of respect and excitement to the practice.

Committed to his community, Paul has participated in numerous charitable events for the region. Paul is a member and past president of the Cajun Kiwanis service organization and a past president of the Iberia Home Builders Association. In 2003, Paul was awarded the Daily Iberian “Citizen of the Year” Award for creating the first public skate park in Louisiana through the non-profit organization he founded, Iberia’s Youth on Wheels.


David P. Allain, RA

David P. Allain is a licensed architect for Paul J. Allain, Architect APAC. David received his Bachelors Degree in Architecture from Louisiana State University in 2011 with a Cum Laude Honors distinction. While at LSU, he earned several awards for academic and design excellence including the O.J. Baker Design Competition Award and School of Architecture Building Technology Award. David is an active board member of the New Iberia Downtown Alliance focusing of improve access and quality of life for downtown businesses and patrons.

David applies his unique vision of the region’s architectural possibilities to push the firm into new territories of architectural distinction. Using the latest architectural computer software and 3D design programs, his contributions allow for new levels of productivity, creativity and visualizations.  David’s exploratory design nature and space conceptualization along with his graphic communication skills help clients to visualize multiple aspects of their project. David’s wide range of skills bring a new surge of innovation and design excellence to the office making him a valuable part of our project team and well appreciated by each of the clients with whom he works. 

Chandler M. Allain, RA

Chandler Allain is a licensed architect for Paul J. Allain, Architect APAC. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Louisiana State University in 2011, Chandler interned under the guidance of a licensed architect/builder in New Orleans, focusing on the revitalization and preservation of historic residences. Surrounded by skilled craftsmen and artisan builders, she recognized the importance of employing time honored building principals into present day technology and practice. Chandler applied her knowledge of digital visualization and 3D design methods to enhance the firm’s productivity and creative exploration. 


Since beginning work at Paul J. Allain, Architect APAC, Chandler has contributed to our project team through the high productivity and sophistication of her work. Chandler's unique perspective on the fusion of architecture with market branding helps our client's to create cultural identity within their projects at individual, business, and community levels.  While working towards gaining her architectural license, Chandler maintains a strong attention to detail and an eagerness to learn the essential practices of the firm. Chandler continually strives for the highest quality of design and seeks to incorporate emerging technologies with local and regional context to create long lasting desirable spaces for all of the firm’s clients.

Carolyn L. Allain, NCIDQ

Carolyn Allain is a licensed Interior Designer for Paul J. Allain, Architect APAC. She is the first on-staff Interior Designer for the firm. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Louisiana State University in 2013, Carolyn interned under the guidance of a licensed Interior Designer and Architect in New Orleans. There she focused on commercial high-rises and the corporate tenant suites they entail. As well as, renovation of historic buildings. At LSU, Carolyn received her CIDA accreditation and the CXC Distinguished Communicator Certificate. Through her prior experience and CIDA accreditation, Carolyn was able to sit for the NCIDQ “National Council for Interior Design” licensure exam- receiving her certificate in 2016.


Since beginning work at Paul J. Allain, Architect APAC, Carolyn has taken the role of creating the first in house interior design department for the firm. She has contributed to our team through collaborating with the project architects on various commercial and residential projects. Carolyn’s unwavering professionalism pushed her to dive head first into residential interior design. Since then her portfolio in residential design as grown immensely. Carolyn maintains creative focus and artistic detail on every project. Her receptive personality allows her to fulfill every clients design needs and goals. Carolyn continually strives to shed light on the physical and psychological benefits of high quality interior design.
